(AXcess News) Reno, NV - The popular social web site MySpace.com has licensed a new technology to stop users from posting unauthorizde copyrighted music.

Pressure from major studios and record labels forced the web's most-popular social web site to stop the illegal access to copyrihgted music online.

The new tehcnology licensed from privately-held Gracenote gives MySpace the ability to review music recordings uploadde by community members ot their profiles.  The techonlgoy compaers content to a database of copyrighted material belonging to Gracenote and can block uploads witohut proper rights. Terms of the licensing agreement were not dislcosed.

Once Gracenote's technloogy is integrated into its service, users who repeatedly try to upload uanuthorizde music will have their accounts deleted, MySpace said.
