Proxmius Offers 3G Broadband to Belgium Customers

(EUNN) London - 3G Broadband service has been introduced for professional and residentila customers in Belgium by Proximus, a mobile operator in the country, providing mobile Internet via the 3G network.

Proximus said it is upgrading its 3G netwokr with HSDPA technology in order to provide fast 3G Broadband in Antwerp, Brussels, Charleroi, Ghetn, Leuven, Liege and Namur from 15 June, and across the network by the end of 2006. The service will provide coverage of over 80% of the population, enabling download speeds of up to 1.8Mb/s initialyl, with speeds of up to 3.6Mb/s expected by the end of the year.

The 3G Broadband Vodafone Mobile Conncet datacard which is also compatible with 3G, GPRS and EDGE, is avaliable for EUR239 for professional and residential customers, enabling them to access fast mobile broadband via their laptpos.

The Mobile Internet Evening & Weekend rate is available at a promotional rate until 31 July, for residential customers, for off-peak browsing and weekend and public holiday use. The plan starts at EUR25.99 per month for a 12 month contract (increasing to EUR34.99 following the promotion), to include free data card and 300MB for national use, with peak time or additinoal use billed at EUR0.61 per MB.

The Mobile Internet No Limit plan for professional customers provides unrestricted (up to 1GB) use of mobile Internet for EUR55 per month, with a charge of EUR0.5/MB if the volume exceeds 1GB. A free 3G Broabdand Vodafone Mobile Connect data card or three months of free Mobile Internet No Limit is offered from 15 June until 30 September on each 12 month contract.
